Fresh Eggs
We got the first few chickens
form a farm down the road. That turned into a 4-H project, that turned
into having lot of chickens. That sparked the love of having fresh eggs
on hand
at all times!
I always try to keep my flock of layers rotating so I have someone always laying eggs. We like the brown eggs most! I tend to like the hybrid brown egg layers, but sometimes I add in a few Leghorns (White Egg layers).
Call for available farm fresh eggs, Right now they are $2.00/dozen

Show Chickens
I have always had a few different breeds of show chickens. I try to let my hens hatch out their own babies.. but I do help out the local 4-H and youth kids with fertile eggs.
My all-time favorite breed of chicken
are the Japanese Bantam.
I have Grey, Black Tailed White, and Black Tailed Buff. Thanks to Tracy
Bruckus and her clan of kids I was able to get some of the blood line I
was working with before I went to college

My current Grey Jap Rooster. I have him with 4
nice Gray hens. I am looking to get some new blood line to take them
too.
Lately I started working with White Frizzle Cochin bantams. Pictured below is the first trio of show birds I had. I took them to each other.. and then took then to a trio of nice white cochins I got.
All my first generation are looking quite nice.

I got a group (30) of nice blue
cochins in spring of 2007.
Over the year I slowly picked out what small group of hens (3) and
1 Lucky Rooster to start my line of Blue Cochins
